THE WOMEN WHO MADE BRITIAN

During the Autumn and Spring terms 2020-2021, we met  by Zoom to discuss the merits of women highlighted in Jenni Murray’s “A History of Britain in 21 Women.”

This was a follow on from the previous year and again  we all had additional women to consider as highlighted below.  Afterwards we voted on the nominee we felt most deserved to be included.  But there can only be one winner and this term it was KATE ADIE.            There was a tie for second place  with Elsie Widdowson, Jocelyn Bell Burnell  and Octavia Hill all with 2 vote.  4 other ladies each received one vote Mary Anning, Cicely Saunders, Christine Lamb and Eleanor of Acquitaine.
