Kevin Steele gave us a chance to brighten up those winter days with floral hanging baskets. During the session he explained the process of layering the bulbs and plants to provide colour throughout the Winter.

As a novice in this area, I found the session to be extremely informative as well as enjoyable. It was a chance to beneficially get your hands dirty on a beautiful Autumn morning. We worked from defined areas in his garden which gave the opportunity for social distancing and compliance with the “rule of six.”

Nine intrepid golfers gathered at Parley Golf Centre for our second meeting of this Covid-hit 2020/21 year.

Armed with our masks and sanitisers and playing socially-distanced golf, we played our way around what was for everyone a new venue.

Luckily, despite the wet weather of the moment, we had a largely dry round and everyone seemed to enjoy the few hours that we were on the course, despite one or two members losing their bearings at one stage!

Let’s hope that we can get another meeting in before winter really sets in.
