IN-KIND CHARITABLE GIVING

IN-KIND CHARITABLE GIVING

Since September, Angela Larcombe has been encouraging ladies to clear out their undies, in particular “bras!”   These will be sent to support ladies in Africa.

To date she has filled four sacks and is well on the way to number five.

There is still time to donate!!

WELL DONE

CHARITY CRAFT FAIR: SUPPORTING SERV WESSEX

CHARITY CRAFT FAIR: SUPPORTING SERV WESSEX

Over the last few months, crafters from across Ferndown U3A have created a range of high quality items for sale at a craft fair in aid of SERV WESSEX.  The good on sale included; pottery, cards, stone painting, jewellery, wood carvings, Christmas decorations and leather goods to name but a few.

As well as purchasing early gifts, members and friends enjoyed catching up with each other over coffee.  The Final outcome saw us raising £1017.

WELL DONE EVERYONE

SPONSORED WALK – SERV WESSEX

SPONSORED WALK – SERV WESSEX

On Saturday 21st October brave members of FU3A undertook a sponsored walk in aid of SERV Wessex, our charity of the year. The walk  took us along the entire length of the Castleman Trail, from Upton House to Ringwood., some 16 miles.

The walk was divided into five stages with seven people walking the entire length. Many others joined in along the way.  Spirits were high and the weather tried hard not to rain!!

BRAVING THE WEATHER

BRAVING THE WEATHER

Saturday Morning Walking Group
Well done to the 15 hardy souls who braved the weather to come along to the Bournemouth Gardens.

We were all rewarded with beautiful colourful trees, some blue skies and only a modest amount of rain! We walked all the way from Coy Pond through the Upper and Lower Gardens to the Pier. After a welcome cup of coffee we made our way back through the gardens.

The rest of you really don’t know what you missed – very much a case of fortune favours the brave!
Clare.
